Engineer

There are two Mechanical Engineering graduates in the family – my dad and my brother. When I was a kid, I used to get amused with what they are doing. They had a machine shop with lots of tools for guys like them – big machines, molds, gasket cutter and even other stuffs like paint, silk screen and tin cans. My dad was even the one who made our case for my college thesis.

Now, my dad can’t do any mechanical stuff like he used to when he was younger. He’s too old for that but I was thankful for having a dad like him who knows lots of mechanical stuff.

Catching Up

I need lots of catching up to do with my family, my relatives. You can say I’ve been “alone” for years, since I’ve gotten married. I haven’t gone back to my hometown though I talk to my parents through phone and while on the phone, my mom would tell me lots of things about our relatives. But the news about my cousin being sick, I’ve read it in Facebook. My cousin is asking for prayers for her sister. She’ll be having an operation on the 30th and I hope everything will be well. If only I could visit her, I’ll give her gifts to show sympathy but I know prayer will be better than giving something in kind.

Gifts I Received

How many gifts did you receive this Christmas? Me? I just received a few, a body wash from The Body Shop, a pillow, and two funny tshirts from my sister. It doesn’t matter though because what’s important is that I get to meet my friends and my family. The kids also didn’t receive my gift because we don’t want them to expect gifts during Christmas as well. Hubby? He got one from me. I gave him a keychain, lolz.

Anyway, what’s important is spending the holidays with my family. It’s more important than getting material gifts.

Gift for Dad

Christmas is already this coming Sunday but I don’t have a gift for my dad yet. I was thinking of giving him a PSP but I don’t have the budget for it. I know that’s what will make him happy, being a game junkie. PSP is a bit expensive. If I couldn’t buy it, most probably I’ll just buy him a flashlight with duracell procell included. He’s collecting it so I’m pretty sure he’ll like it too. Another gift will be a polo or a shirt but that’s my sister’s gift to him already. Hmmm, what should I give him? I still have a few days to think about it and a day to buy it. I must find something to give him!

Anniversary Gift

Hubby and I will be celebrating our fifth year wedding anniversary next year. This year, we were not able to celebrate because I’ve just given birth to the twins. But it was the best anniversary so far because hubby really did surprised me by having a bouquet of roses delivered at home. I was truly shocked and happy because it was the first time he surprised me. He said he found out a nearby flower shop when he went to the mall for some errands so he ordered one for me. He said if he didn’t find one, he would have ordered online. I asked him who gave him the idea of giving me flowers and he said it’s his friend in the US, who just gave his wife Pro Flowers San Diego on their anniversary as well.

Next year, I wish we could go to Boracay or Palawan. Just a wishful thinking because we can’t leave the babies behind.
